  • UPON INSPECTION WE FOUND THE RIGHT SIDE HOOD STOP IS MISSING. WITH OUT THE HOOD STOP THERE IS NO RESISTANCE TO POP THE HOOD. RECOMMEND REPLACE THE HOOD STOP.

USING THE SCAN TOOL WE WATCHED THE OPERATION OF THE IGNITION COILS. FOUND COIL #2 FAILING AND NOT DELIVERING SPARK. WE CHANGED COILS #2 AND #4 AND RETESTED. NOW WE FOUND #4 COIL NOT WORKING. WE FOUND A SECOND CODE STORED: P0420- CAT CONVERTER EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD. THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE ONE OF THE OXYGEN SENSORS BUT IT NEEDS TO BE DIAGNOSED. THIS WILL NOT CAUSE THE ENGINE MISFIRE. RECOMMEND REPLACE THIS IGNITION COIL AND RECHECK SYSTEM. AFTER WE REPLACED THE COIL WE CLEARED THE CODES AND FOUND THE ENGINE TO RUN NORMALLY WITHOUT MISFIRE. CODE FOR MISFIRE HAS NOT RETURNED. WE EXPECT THE CODE FOR THE O2 SENSOR TO RETURN.

  • WE EXPERIENCED THE HARD SHIFT FROM THE TRANSMISSION DURING TEST DRIVE. WE SCANNED FOR CODES: P0868-Transmission line pressure low (THIS IS A STORED CODE IN HISTORY). WE CHECKED TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL AND CONDITION, FLUID IS FULL AND LOOKS OK BUT THESE TRANSMISSIONS RELY ON FILTERS BEING CHANGED EVERY 30,000 MILES. RECOMMEND REPLACE BOTH FILTERS IF THEY HAVE BEEN DONE WITHIN 30,000. ADVISE CUSTOMER THAT WITH THE INCREASE IN HORSEPOWER THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT AND FEEL DIFFERENT. ADVISE HIM TO CHANGE TRANS FLUID AND FILTER EVERY 30,000 MILES.

AFTER REPLACING THE SWITCH WE FOUND THE GAUGE TO READ PROPERLY WHEN TURNING ON KEY AND STARTING ENGINE.
  • UPON INSPECTION SCANNED THE VEHICLE FOR TROUBLE CODES, FOUND TROUBLE CODES, P0571 Brake switch circuit 1 (history code) P0672 Glow plug #2 control circuit P0677 Glow plug #7 control circuit PINPOINT TESTED THE WIRING TO THE STOPLIGHT SWITCH, SWITCH HAS GOOD POWER AND GROUND AT THIS TIME, PERFORMED ON DEMAND TESTING AND FOUND AT THIS TIME THE SWITCH IS WORKING OK, ADVISED THE CUSTOMER WE SUSPECT IT IS INTERMITTENTLY FAILING AND RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT FOR SAFETY, OHMED GLOW PLUGS AND FOUND GLOW PLUGS 2 AND 7 HAVE FAILED RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT AND THEN RETEST. AFTER REPLACING THE STOP LIGHT SWITCH, WE FOUND IT TO WORK FINE AND CODE DID NOT RETURN. AFTER REPLACING THE GLOW PLUGS, WE CLEARED CODES AND TEST DROVE AND THE CODES HAVE NOT RETURNED.

WE CONTACTED LAND ROVER AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT IT IS COMMON FOR THE LEAK DETECTION MODULE LOCATED AT THE BACK OF THE CHARCOAL CANISTER TO FAIL AND SET THE CODE. THEY RECOMMEND TO START WITH REPLACING THIS MODULE AND RECHECK THE SYSTEM. THE FAULTY PURGE MODULE CAN ALSO CAUSE THE MISFIRE CODES AS A SYMPTOM. RECOMMEND START WITH REPLACING THIS MODULE AND RETEST SYSTEM. AFTER REPLACING THE MODULE WE TEST DROVE SEVERAL TIMES AND ADDED MORE FUEL TO TANK. NO CODES HAVE RETURNED, ENGINE DOES NOT MISFIRE. HAVE CUSTOMER REPORT BACK IF THE CEL RETURNS.

WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO INSTALL A HIGHER AMPERAGE ALTERNATOR BUT WE MIGHT FIND THAT THERE WILL BE A BELT MISALIGNMENT, THEN A NEW PULLEY WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED IF POSSIBLE TO CORRECT THE ALIGNMENT. CUSTOMER DECLINED ANY FURTHER DIAGNOSIS.

RECOMMEND REPLACE BATTERY AND THEN WE WILL RETEST SYSTEM. AFTER WE REPLACED BATTERY WE RECHECKED SYSTEM, ALTERNATOR GOOD, NO DRAW FOUND ON SYSTEM, BATTERY GOOD.
  • WE WERE ABLE TO CORRECT THE CROOKED BOLT BY INSTALLING A SPACER IN THE CLAMP AND RETIGHTEN. WE CHECKED ALL BOLTS AND TIGHTENED AS NEEDED.
  • WE WILL BUILD AND INSTALL CABLE AND CONNECTOR. AFTER THIS REPAIR WE FOUND NO DRAW ON TRUCK BATTERY WITH CAMPER PLUGGED IN. WE CHECKED ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS, FOUND SEVERAL MARKER LAMPS ON CAMPER TO BE OUT. WE NOTICED THE LENSES ON THESE LAMPS ARE VERY OLD AND BRITTLE AND THEY MIGHT BREAK WHEN WE REMOVE THEM TO CHECK / REPLACE BULBS.

  • PER CUSTOMER REQUEST REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE REAR E-BRAKE CABLE, UPON PERFORMING THE 32PT INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE REAR SHOCKS ARE BAD DUE TO SOMEONE DRILLING HOLES IN THEM, LEFT FRONT COIL OVER IS BLOWN, AND THE AFTER MARKET TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING, ADVISED THE CUSTOMER THAT THE THROW OUT BEARING IS STARTING TO CHIRP AND CUSTOMER IS AWARE THAT THE CEL IS ON
