    • DURING TEST DRIVE UP HESPERUS HILL WE FOUND THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT GOOD BUT FOUND THE TEMPERATURE TO RISE ON THE GAUGE. UPON INSPECTION WE FOUND THE FLUID IN GOOD CONDITION. WE FOUND THE A/C CONDENSER TO BE VERY PLUGGED UP WITH DIRT AND MUD AND THE FINS ARE BENT OVER ON MOST OF THE UNIT. THE CONDENSER IS IN FRONT OF THE TRANSMISSION COOLER AND WE BELIEVE THAT THE CONDENSER IS RESTRICTING THE AIR FLOW TO THE TRANS COOLER. WE SCANNED FOR CODES: P0717- Input/Turbine Speed Sensor No Signal. THIS CODE WAS IN A HISTORY FILE AND WE CLEARED IT. WE INSPECTED ALL TRANSMISSION WIRING, GOOD. WE REMOVED TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES TO TEST FLOW THRU THE COOLER, THE FLOW IS GOOD THRU THE RADIATOR BUT POOR/RESTRICTED THRU THE TRANSMISSION COOLER. AIR FLOW IS THE #1 SUSPECT OF THE OVERHEATING. RECOMMEND REPLACE THE A/C CONDENSER AND THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER. AFTER REPLACING THE CONDENSER AND TRANS COOLER WE FOUND THE TRANSMISSION TEMP GAUGE TO READ MUCH COOLER. HAVE CUSTOMER HOOK UP TRAILER AND REPORT BACK TO US. WE ALSO NOTICED THAT BOTH OF THE INTERIOR CABIN AIR FILTERS ARE VERY PLUGGED WITH DEBRIS. WE ATTEMPTED TO BLOW THEM OUT BUT W/O SUCCESS. WE RECOMMEND REPLACING THEM SO THE A/C FLOW IS EFFICIENT. AFTER REPLACING THE CABIN AIR FILTERS WE FOUND THE BLOWER MOTOR TO BLOW AIR MUCH BETTER.
    • INCLUDES RECOVER, EVACUATE AND RECHARGE.
    • REPLACE A/C CONDENSER AND TRANSMISSION COOLER.
    • REPLACE BOTH CABIN AIR FILTERS.

    • WE SCANNED FOR CODES, P0302 – MISFIRE CYL #2. WE INSPECTED THE SPARK PLUGS AND COILS. FOUND THE PLUGS WERE JUST REPLACED (WRONG BRAND PLUGS). USING THE SCAN TOOL WE WATCHED THE OPERATION OF THE IGNITION COILS. FOUND COIL #2 FAILING AND NOT DELIVERING SPARK. WE CHANGED COILS #2 AND #4 AND RETESTED. NOW WE FOUND #4 COIL NOT WORKING. WE FOUND A SECOND CODE STORED: P0420- CAT CONVERTER EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD. THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE ONE OF THE OXYGEN SENSORS BUT IT NEEDS TO BE DIAGNOSED. THIS WILL NOT CAUSE THE ENGINE MISFIRE. RECOMMEND REPLACE THIS IGNITION COIL AND RECHECK SYSTEM. AFTER WE REPLACED THE COIL WE CLEARED THE CODES AND FOUND THE ENGINE TO RUN NORMALLY WITHOUT MISFIRE. CODE FOR MISFIRE HAS NOT RETURNED. WE EXPECT THE CODE FOR THE O2 SENSOR TO RETURN.

    • UPON INSPECTION SCANNED VEHICLE FOR CODES P0345 camshaft position problem b2 INSPECTED CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ON THE BANK 2 SIDE AND PHYSICALLY IT LOOKS OK AND NOTHING IS LEAKING FROM THE SENSOR ITSELF. INSPECTED THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ON THE BANK 1 SIDE AND THERE IS OIL LEAKING FROM THE SENSOR. SUSPECT THAT THE BANK 1 SIDE NEEDS REPLACED. INSPECTED THE COOLANT AND FOUND OIL IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. RECOMMEND FLUSH COOLING SYSTEM. INSPECTED OIL FOUND IT 1 QT LOW, ADDED 1 QT OF 5W30 OIL. ACCORDING TO STICKER OIL IS NOT DUE FOR ANOTHER 2K MILES. TEST DROVE VEHICLE 2 TIMES IN THE MORNING AND COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO STALL OUT. RACKED VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION AND FOUND THAT OIL IS LEAKING FROM BEHIND THE ENGINE OIL COOLER. RECOMMEND REPLACE THE O-RING ON ENGINE OIL COOLER AND PERFORM OIL CHANGE AT THE SAME TIME DUE TO OIL BEING IN COOLANT. WHEN VEHICLE WAS STARTED THERE IS A WHINE WHEN ACCELERATING THAT GETS QUIETER AS THE VEHICLE WARMS UP. SUSPECT IT MIGHT BE THE VVT VALVE THAT IS LEAKING. WOULD LIKE TO START WITH THE COOLANT FLUSH, OIL CHANGE HAVE CUSTOMER DRIVE FOR A DAY OR SO TO SEE IF GETS BETTER. IF WHINE DOES NOT GET BETTER RECOMMEND REPLACING VVT VALVE AS IT IS LEAKING. CUSTOMER WILL BRING BACK FOR REPAIRS.
